A little princess with a big heart is about to go on a royal adventure!
Princess Erin doesn’t care about fancy tea parties or perfect curtsies. She’d much rather explore tide pools by the sea in her muddy boots. Until one day, she finds something that changes everything: a shivering, lost puppy hidden among the rocks.
With the Harvest Festival just days away, Erin sets off on a journey through her kingdom to find the puppy’s owner. Along the way, she makes a brand-new friend, Lily, and together they face their biggest challenge—a terrifying climb down a slippery cliff, with nothing to guide them but their courage and each other.
Erin soon learns that being a real princess isn’t about looking brave.
It’s about being brave—even when it’s scary.
Chapter One Look Inside
Chapter One Look Inside
Princess Erin was a real princess who loved to explore. She lived in a faraway kingdom called Everwood, and loved wearing muddy boots and going on adventures. She had a big smile and an even bigger sense of curiosity.
She did not like sitting still. She did not like fancy tea parties. And she did not like practicing her curtsy again and again.
“Princess Erin, stand up tall,” said Madame Fontaine, her teacher. “A princess always stands tall.”
Erin stood up tall. But as soon as Madame Fontaine looked away, Erin peeked out the window. Past the garden. Past the little bridge. All the way to the blue, sparkly ocean, and Starlight Cove.
That was where Erin wanted to be.
“Class is over!” said Madame Fontaine at last.
Princess Erin didn’t wait for another second. She grabbed her boots and ran.
“Where are you going?” asked her sister Karen. Princess Karen was reading a book about pretty dresses.
In the next room, their little sister, Aimee looked up from the song she was singing to her toy rabbit. “Are you going to the tide pools?”
Princess Erin nodded and grinned.
Even though Erin, Karen, and Aimee were sisters, they liked very different things. Karen loved shiny shoes and fancy parties. Aimee loved singing and telling stories. And Erin loved jumping in puddles and salty air.
She ran down the garden path, past the pink roses, and over the little bridge, next to the stream. The stream that went all the way down to the sea.
Erin loved that walk.
She loved the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. She loved looking in the tide pools for tiny sea creatures—orange starfish, wiggly crabs, and shells in every color.
“A real princess doesn’t just look brave,” Erin liked to whisper to herself. “She is brave.”
Her grandma used to say that. Erin didn’t remember much about her grandma. But she remembered those words.
Today, as Princess Erin climbed down to her favorite tide pool, the wind carried a strange sound.
It was not the wind. It was not the waves.
It sounded like... crying.
Erin stopped. With her boots balanced on the rocks, she listened harder.
There it was again. A small, sad, shivery sound.
Erin’s heart went thump thump thump.
Whatever it was, she was going to find it.
